Equbits is awarded Phase I SBIR Grant by the National Science Foundation PALO ALTO, Calif. - June 1, 2005 - Equbits announced today that they
have been awarded a Phase I Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR)
Grant. This grant entitled,"Knowledge Extraction from Non-linear Models of Drug Data Sets", was funded by the
National Science Foundation. This research will further develop Equbits
software engine's ability to bring new levels of interpretability to
non-linear predictive modeling methods. Predictive modeling as applied to pharmaceutical drug
discovery is inherently non-linear and one of the challenges facing
modelers is to use non-linear statistical methods that are both
accurate and interpretable. Receiving the grant validates the
company's thought leadership in bringing more accurate, interpretable
predictive modeling to the pharmaceutical industry. About Equbits: Equbits provides software that helps scientists at
pharmaceutical companies accelerate drug discovery. Equbits applies
advanced machine learning techniques to QSAR predictive modeling in a
easy to use, intuitive software application geared towards HTS and ADME
chemists. Founded in 2003, Equbits technology greatly increases
productivity by providing the most accurate predictive modeling
application in the marketplace. A privately held company, Equbits is
headquartered in Palo Alto, California.
